NAS ECO
Brand information
What is NAS® ECO?
Bio-circular styrene methyl methacrylate (SMMA), produced with a proportion of the feedstocks coming from renewable resources, designed to help customers reduce their carbon footprint.
NAS® ECO SMMA is a water-clear, amorphous engineering plastic with high stiffness, crystal clear clarity, chemical resistance, in particular to solvents, excellent moisture stability and processing characteristics.
Where is NAS® ECO used?
Drinking water filters, tanks and jugs. Food containers and storage boxes. Point-of-purchase displays. Medical devices including injector pen cartridges, and medical device packaging.
NAS®️ ECO is particularly suited to applications where brand owners want to combine excellent aesthetics and functionality with ambitious sustainability goals. Like the traditionally produced NAS®️, its low moisture absorption and amorphous structure brings ease to moulding, with excellent dimensional stability for high precision water- and food-contact applications, medical devices, electronics and automotive markets.
What approvals and certifications does NAS® ECO have?
NAS® ECO combines sustainability credentials with the regulatory support expected from a high-performance engineering plastic. The renewable feedstock allocation is certified through an independently verified mass balance approach, enabling manufacturers to support their fossil-resource reduction strategies without compromising material performance, quality or compliance.
Relevant grades are available with food-contact and drinking-water-contact approvals, helping manufacturers meet evolving regulatory and consumer expectations while progressing towards their sustainability objectives.
NAS® ECO HD grades are available with the INEOS Styrolution HD Healthcare package, manufactured with enhanced quality control processes and supported by regulatory statements on MDR, USP Class VI and ISO 10993 requirements, together with up to 12 months NOC* (notification of change) and the assurance of a locked formulation defined within the DMF (Drug Master File).
