Innovating with Sustainable Healthcare Plastics – how Collaboration Conquers Complexity

Julian Lotz

CEO and Co-Founder

Biovox

Julian Lotz is the CEO and co-founder of BIOVOX, a startup dedicated to sustainable plastics for healthcare. With a background in mechanical engineering and over a decade of experience in fiber-reinforced plastics, Julian has driven innovation in the field. His research on managing uncertainty in product development earned him a Dr.-Ing. (PhD), and he previously managed complexity in product development at a major technology firm.

BIOVOX originates in the development of resorbable osteosynthesis materials but switched focus to future-proof healthcare plastics for devices and packaging that reduce carbon footprints and promote a circular economy – the most urgent, largest problem of healthcare materials. Founded in 2021, BIOVOX is now recognized for its innovative, sustainable solutions in the healthcare industry.

Julian‘s presentation at this event will focus on a holistic approach to selecting healthcare plastics. He will discuss the importance of considering the entire product life cycle and the potential of new technologies for safer, more efficient materials and better recycling.
