TECHNYL® MAX

STRONGER IS LIGHTER WITH TECHNYL® MAX

Overall powertrain system mass of electrical vehicles is driving a strong demand for cost-effective lightweighting solutions. In addition to weight reduction, the new mobility challenge requires even greater rigidity and fatigue resistance due to higher vibration frequencies.
That’s why the automotive industry is increasingly looking for polymer materials showing extreme stiffness toughness to substitute a range of metal components. Technyl® MAX has been specifically developed to address this market trend: a brand new highly-filled polyamide that makes ‘lighter’ equalling ‘stronger’.

MAIN BENEFITS

  • Weight reduction due to extreme rigidity and toughness
  • Outstanding resistance to fatigue and high frequencies
  • Very good surface aspect
  • Easy processing

UP TO 60% GLASS FILLED FOR THE HIGHEST MECHANICAL PERFORMANCE

Technyl® MAX is born from the combination of the Technyl STAR® high-fluidity polymer – a reference in the industry – together with the latest glass fiber technology. This innovation presents a unique set of properties that made Technyl® Max the material of choice to develop the first brake pedal without a metal core.
In addition to car pedal systems, Technyl® MAX range stands as the ideal solution to maximize lightweighting in semi-structural components such as transmission and motor mount cross beams, air shutter grills and seat structures. Its low density offers significant weight savings over typical die-casting metals at comparable tensile strength.

KEY FEATURES

  • Up to 60% Glass Fiber
  • High modulus (> 20 GPa)
  • Massive warpage reduction
  • Excellent dimensional stability
  • Higher melt flowability
  • Reduced anisotropy
