High glass and carbon fibre reinforced polyamides

Light weight composite polyamides for metal replacement with improved strength, stiffness and fatigue performance

TECHNYL® MAX reinforced polymers contain up to 60% glass fibre or 40% carbon fibre content for improved mechanical performance. With enhanced rigidity, fatigue resistance, and dimensional stability, these polyamides are a game-changer for metal replacement in structural applications for automotive, household appliances, industrial applications, water management, furniture, and sport & leisure markets.

With DOMO's latest polyamide chemistry, TECHNYL® MAX demonstrates consistent performance after conditioning or exposure to humidity, moisture, water or other liquids.

TECHNYL® MAX Nylon Properties

  • High tensile modulus up to 33 GPa with stress at break up to 300 MPa
  • Higher fatigue resistance than standard PA66
  • High strength and stiffness with minimal difference after conditioning
  • Improved creep resistance for applications under constant load
  • Excellent surface quality and aesthetic finish
  • Good chemical resistance
  • Improved dimensional stability compared to PA66
  • Ease of processing, similar to PA66

TECHNYL® MAX Nylon Uses:

Automotive structural components such as mounts and seat structures, consumer products including coffee machine components and furniture structural parts, water management like water meters and filter housings, industrial gears and drainage systems, and medical equipment.

Metal Replacement with High Performance Polymers by DOMO

Numerous industry trends are driving brand owners from designing in metal towards plastic including the need to lightweight, streamline manufacturing, design more flexibly and reduce carbon footprint. However, the process of replacing metal with polymers isn't as straight forward as it may seem. It requires careful consideration from design to production.

To support you on this journey Ultrapolymers have collaborated with DOMO, producer of TECHNYL® polyamides, with an online course to support you in this process.
