What is NAS®?
Styrene methyl methacrylate (SMMA), with water-clear transparency, chemical resistance and moisture stability.
NAS® is an amorphous engineering plastic with high stiffness, crystal clear clarity, chemical resistance, in particular to solvents, and excellent processing characteristics.
Where is NAS used?
Water filters, tanks and jugs. Food boxes and storage containers. Point-of-purchase displays. Medical devices such as injector pen cartridges, and medical device packaging.
Being a water-repelling, amorphous material, NAS delivers ease of moulding, and excellent dimensional stability for high precision water- and food-contact applications, medical devices, electronics and automotive markets.
What approvals and certifications does NAS have?
NAS® is equipped with food- and drinking water-contact approvals, INEOS Styrolution always keeping in line with the latest market demands and regulations. NAS® HD grades feature the INEOS Styrolution HD Healthcare package, manufactured with enhanced quality control processes, these materials come with regulatory statements on MDR, USP Class VI, ISO 10993-4 & -5, up to 12 months NOC* (notification of change), and the assurity of a locked formulation defined in the DMF (drug master file).
