TECHNYL® STAR High Flow PA6 and PA66 Polyamide Materials - DOMO
High flow nylons to reduce cycle times, minimise energy consumption and optimise manufacturing efficiency
With manufacturers increasingly mindful of carbon footprint, minimising energy consumption, maximising output and profitability, the material you chose is extremely important. TECHNYL® STAR by DOMO delivers excellent flow properties compared to standard PA6 and PA66 grades, reducing cycle times by 10%, increasing flowability by up to 60%, bringing down processing temperatures by 45 °C, and reducing weld line formation by up to 70%. Overall helping to maximise the profitability of your product and business.
DOMO's unique polyamide technology in TECHNYL® MAX enables greater design flexibility for brand owners to mould more complex geometries that would be impossible with standard nylons, facilitating metal replacement, miniaturisation and streamlining of product designs.
TECHNYL® STAR Nylon Properties:
- High flow for processability and cycle time optimisation
- Excellent mechanical strength, rigidity and impact resistance
- Reinforced options available
- Flame retardant grades
- Aesthetic surface finish
- Various colour options available
TECHNYL® STAR Nylon Uses:
Metal replacement in automotive applications such as cylinder head covers and engine covers, turbo engine components, steering wheel switch controls, transmission parts, accelerator and clutch pedals. Electrical & electronics devices such as connectors, structural elements, internal & external components, interior decorative trim, switches, and external door handles. Renewable energy and photovoltaic applications, electrical junction boxes, diode holders and module mounts.
Metal Replacement with High Performance Polymers by DOMO
Numerous industry trends are driving brand owners from designing in metal towards plastic including the need to lightweight, streamline manufacturing, design more flexibly and reduce carbon footprint. However, the process of replacing metal with polymers isn't as straight forward as it may seem. It requires careful consideration from design to production.
To support you on this journey Ultrapolymers have collaborated with DOMO, producer of TECHNYL® polyamides, with an online course to support you in this process.
