Compounding

Compounding of thermoplastics involves a raw base material being combined with additives and/or colourants. Compounding is caried out in several steps. Resin and additive(s) are fed through an extruder where they mix thoroughly. The melted compound exits the extruder in continuous strands. These strands are cooled and then cut into pellets.
