3D Printing

3D printing filament is created using a process of heating polymer granules then extruding through a round hole and cooling the polymer to transform granules into a thin continuous filament. Applying a force to the filament as it exits the hole reduces its diameter. Further diameter reduction is achieved by stretching the filament in the solid state to the most commonly used diamters of 1.75 mm or 3 mm. Most filament is sold on reels from which it is easily fed into the 3D printing machine. Ultrapolymers only sells raw plastic granular material for 3D printing. The granules are then extruded into filament by our customers.
