MedEco
Brand information
The MedEco bio-polymers, made from up to 100% renewable raw materials are intended for applications in medical and laboratory devices and packaging. They have a significantly reduced environmental impact compared to fossil plastics and are an important part of a truly sustainable circular economy. The MedEco range has three main categories suitable for different product demands in the medical market:
- MedEco Rigid: Made from PLA (polylactic acid), an entirely bio-based polymer. Suitable for rigid components, as a transparent and particularly easy-to-handle variant, with the best carbon footprint and great price-performance ratio. Grades available suitable for Injection Moulding and Extrusion.
- MedEco Soft: For medium stiff components with demanding temperature resistance requirements. Increased impact strength and a good environmental balance. Suitable for Injection Moulding and Extrusion. MedEco Soft is currently under development and will be launched soon.
- MedEco Perform: The high performance plastic with medium stiffness. Crystal clear, very durable with high strength, impact resistance, and heat deflection temperature. MedEco Perform is currently under development and will be launched soon.
Bio-Plastics for Healthcare Applications
Bio-Based, Biodegradable, Bioplastics, what do they mean?
This nugget introduces bio-plastics in the medical market, including the different bio-plastic terms and what they mean. This course is supported our supplier, BIOVOX, an inspiring manufacturer of medically compliant bio-plastics with the aim to "enable a truly sustainable circular economy in healthcare."
